Find answers to common questions about using Calcflux.

How accurate are the conversions?

All conversion factors are sourced from authoritative standards including NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology), ISO, and BIPM. Our test suite verifies thousands of conversions against known reference values. Temperature and other non-linear conversions use exact mathematical formulas, not approximations.

What methodology do you use for conversions?

Every unit category has a designated base unit (e.g., meters for length, kilograms for weight). Conversions work in two steps: convert the input value to the base unit, then convert from the base unit to the target unit. This ensures consistency and accuracy across all unit pairs.

Can I use Calcflux offline?

Yes! Calcflux is a Progressive Web App (PWA). After your first visit, pages are cached locally for offline use. Install Calcflux to your home screen for the best offline experience. Note that currency conversions require an internet connection for up-to-date exchange rates.

How do cooking conversions between weight and volume work?

Converting between weight (grams, ounces) and volume (cups, tablespoons) depends on the ingredient's density. Calcflux uses USDA-sourced density data for 60+ common ingredients. Select your ingredient to get an accurate conversion — using water density as a default would give incorrect results for most ingredients.

Is Calcflux optimized for mobile devices?

Absolutely. Every page is designed mobile-first with 44px minimum touch targets, numeric keyboards for number inputs, and a responsive layout. The cooking converter even includes a screen wake-lock feature to keep your screen on while cooking.

Are the calculator results financial or medical advice?

No. All calculators (mortgage, BMI, BMR, etc.) are for educational and informational purposes only. Financial calculators provide estimates — consult a qualified financial advisor for real decisions. Health calculators are screening tools — consult a healthcare professional for medical advice.

What languages is Calcflux available in?

Calcflux is currently available in English, German, Spanish, French, and Portuguese. All languages share the same English URL paths for consistent linking.
